I struggled for years, watching my adult son’s habits escalate from occasional party drinking to multi-day binges to a never-ending daily intoxication. His father and I divorced several years ago, and we weren’t able to work together to provide the help he needed. Finally, after 14 years, I called Intervention Allies, and within an hour of my initial phone call, was put in touch with Carmine Thompson. Carmine was very caring and compassionate on the phone and wasted no time in learning our son’s drinking history and laying out a plan for an intervention. I provided the names of the family participants and Carmine did the rest. Carmine spent time during the pre-intervention meeting interviewing each of the family participants to find out what each of us had experienced with our alcoholic and what were our primary feelings toward him.
